PreSchool-Grade 3 A fun-filled story of the slightly eccentric Pottle clan, and particularly of R. R. Pottle the Third, who loved hats. He consoles a rather lonely heart by wearing three hats at once. On a visit to a hat store he finds the perfect wife, wearing, of course, the perfect hat. There is also a nice twist at the end, concerning R. R. Pottle the Fourth’s obsession. Lobel’s depiction of the Pottles is imaginative and clever. The softly coloured watercolours show Pottle using a fishing pole to choose his day’s hat from his bed and reveal the Pottle mansion to be a melange of canes and umbrellas (his parents’ loves). Even better, though, is the richness and rhythm of the language: \ Reviews There are no reviews yet. Be the first to review “A Three Hat Day” Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
