DescriptionThe vertically striped crochet tote bag or shoulder bag TONINA is crocheted in rows, in one piece and with half double (half treble) stitches. For inspiration and photos, check out my Instagram account Instagram-Account mallorca_made_crochet. This pattern is written in a beginner-friendly way, each step is written out, with no crochet shortcuts. If you know the basic stitches you will be able to crochet your tote bag quickly. At the beginning of this tutorial, you will learn to start directly with half double (half treble) stitches without a foundation chain. Long foundation chains often get twisted and the border then looks kind of irregular, but with this technique, you will get a neat first row. Alternatively, you can start with a foundation chain, followed by row of half double (half treble) stitches. The striped bag looks great in two or three colours or in rainbow colours. On the next page you will find information about the amount of yarn needed for each type of bag. Optionally, you can give your bag special touch with a crochet flower, attached with a safety pin if you don’t want to sew it on permanently. I show you how to crochet the flower at the end of this tutorial. If you are looking for a smaller crochet bag with a zipper, have a look at my crochet pattern AMIGA BAG.You should be familiar with these US crochet stitches (UK terms):To crochet the tote bag: half double (half treble) crochet, chain stitch, slip stitch (single crochet).
